We Tell Stories is a multi-ethnic group of artists that seeks to educate, nurture, and strengthen communities by reconnecting young audiences with the ancient powers of storytelling and theatre.

Our goals:

  • to inspire creativity

  • to enhance literacy

  • to cultivate intercultural awareness

  • to spark a love for theatre and the spoken word

Our stories are classic myths, legends, fairy tales, and literature that represent humanity’s collective wisdom. These stories are chosen and adapted to elucidate values of compassion, humor, valor, and responsibility that express the universality of the human condition.

We perform in an extemporaneous style much akin to children at play. In so doing, the process of theatre is revealed. Audience members play integral roles in every story and kids walk away saying, “I can do that!”

Through the We Tell Stories Process of performance and workshops, we access different modes of learning, and discover a sense of intimate community. Our Process is based on trust and support—the very elements that engender a harmonious atmosphere where individual empowerment and meaningful learning can take place.
